So, 3 sleeps till the trip starts. The bike is sorted, but needs a final check and test. Gear is assembled but needs final check and pack – and I’m almost ready. Last time I did this there were grand plans. Ride to Nice, cross to Corsica and so on for almost 4 weeks, Sardinia, maybe Sicily. Every day – well almost – with a plan. Until, that is, I got to Banbury and my encounter with gravity followed closely by a trip to A&E.

The ferry leaves just after 3pm Sunday from Portsmouth and arrives at 12.30 local time in Santander on Monday the 25th. First night is booked in a small hotel near Potes in the Picos de Europa. After that? I’ll let you know.
